The Asanoha (hemp leaf) motif is one of Japan's traditional geometric patterns. Inspired by the straight, vigorous growth of hemp plants, the design has long been associated with wishes for children's healthy growth. Its simple yet orderly repeating geometry remains a hallmark of Japanese textile aesthetics, handed down to the present day.

Set against a pale, near-white ground, fine purple all-over patterning spreads across the entire kimono. Its delicate komon-style motifs give the piece a calm, refined, and modern feel.
